Year 1
Welcome to our Year 1 page. This year, the classes in Year 1 have been named after two inspirational figures: Wilma Rudolph and Mohammad Ali.
Wilma Rudolph, a trailblazing athlete who overcame great challenges to become an Olympic champion, represents perseverance and determination. Mohammad Ali, renowned not just for his excellence in boxing but for his courage and advocacy for justice, symbolises confidence and resilience.
Together, they exemplify the power of sports as a force for change and the importance of never giving up, no matter the odds. By naming our Year 1 classes after these iconic figures, we hope to instil in our students the same sense of determination, confidence, and compassion that both Wilma Rudolph and Mohammad Ali embodied throughout their lives.
We are here to see a year full of growth, exploration, and fun as we plant in them a wonder of curiosity and build their confidence.
This year is all about building strong foundations in English, Maths, and creativity. Through engaging lessons, children will develop their reading, writing, and maths skills while exploring a range of topics in science, history, and the arts. We also place great emphasis on social skills, teamwork, and fostering independence. Our goal is to create a fun and supportive learning environment where every child feels confident to explore, discover, and grow. We're excited to partner with you in this important stage of your child's education!
